Garran took Ledoux in his arms and held her tight.
"Commander, with your permission I'll bring Ledoux to the camp too." he stated, even though more for formality than to wait for a direct order.

Garran walked away from the trees, to gain a good space. He spread his wings and flapped them for a moment, shifting weight from one foot to another. He crouched, slowly.
"The worst thing is the jump. At least for you."
Then, like a spring, he jumped high; he flapped the wings fast and hard to rapidly gain altitude, since with Ledoux in his arms he hadn't been free to take a run-up. He could feel the fox clenching. With one last thrust he gained enough altitude and arched his back a little, curving and finally being able to keep a more relaxed cadence. Over the trees, with the help of the wind from the sea, he could finally glide, with just some spare flaps to keep speed. Finally the flight was comfortalbe even for Ledoux - well, at least not that stressfull.
Archeus was nowhere to be seen.
No, wait, there was a blue dot descending, against the dark sky.
"They have already arrived" he said to Ledoux, smiling.

Garran didn't have the occasion to fly over the camp yet. When the trees ended he found himself gliding over a sea of tents, with lots of purple ants running. There was the mess, General Steele's tent, the R&D one not that far...

"Here we are" he whispered spotting the medical tent. He began losing height, gliding in large circles. Three heads and an emerald mane denoted the brothers ans Socks, working on the tents. Finally he spread the wings to lose momentum and flapped to slow down the fall, landing softly. Garran wrapped his wings around Ledoux to warm her after the flight and entered the medical tent, meeting Archeus and the purple fox.
"Here, rest" and put Ledoux down near the other fox.

[Ledoux]

Upon taking off with Garran, Ledoux felt the butterflies in her stomach and was amazed at the speed. She soon realized what an incredible place this must be to have talent on hand such as this. Seeing the ground below from such a vantage point was nothing she ever considered possible.
As they flew over the camp she could see the size and layout and couldn't help but be impressed.
Soon they landed. "Garran that was incredible. I'm at a loss how to thank you." Before she knew it her and Zenny were back together.
Ledoux looked at the blue tigress. "Garran tells me you're Archeus, my thanks for all you've done. I think we'll be alright this looks to be an impressive facility."
Ledoux laid her head back down to rest. It had been an exhausting day and her mind was full of things to contemplate.

[Archeus]

Archeus hearing the others coming in looked over her shoulder to see Garran and Ledoux arriving. "Good to see you guys back." When Ledoux addressed her Archeus being modest said: "It's what we're here for and you're welcome."
Archeus pulling her tablet back out sent Socks a note letting her know they were back. Looking over to Garran. "These two should be fine for the moment. I'm going to catch up with Socks and the rest of R&D to see what's left on the punch list."
Archeus looked at the white fox. "Miss Ledoux I'll be back later to check on you and your brother." She then patted Zenny on the head. "Hang in there kid you made it this far, you'll get the finest care."
Archeus nodded at Garran and headed back to the R&D tent.

[Archeus]

It was good to be back at what was now home. But walking back into R&D felt a little weird, it was so quiet. Looking around Archeus began turning the lights on and raising a few flaps. Having been in the forest things seemed to be moving at an incredible pace. But now her attention was getting back to finishing the project they had been given. She unlocked the cabinets and lockers then removed all the notes and paperwork that had been so carefully stored.
She took a moment to sit down and ran her claws over her Mohawk, her mind turning back to the foxes she just left in medical. The sudden withdrawal of adrenalin was like hitting a wall. She sighed....

[Socks the Fox]

Socks received Archeus' message on her tablet. After reading it, she responded to Kier's query, "Nope! I'm fine, really. That was our project leader, we should get back to R&D. I can't think of anything else that needs to be done other than finishing up the tents, so if you're just waiting for the rest to get back you could probably work on them."

She turned to the brothers, letting them know "Archeus says she'll meet us back at the R&D tent," before starting her way over.

Lukas took out his own tablet and saw the same message, just as Socks told them about it herself. He and his brothers nodded and followed along with her.

The brothers had managed to work out some rough notes speculating on the usefulness of various programming languages Lukas was familiar with in regards to the creation of the map. It wouldn't factor into the creation of the basic physical model, but it wouldn't hurt to get this step out of the way, and Lukas couldn't think of a better role for him on this project. It was more than his brothers could think of to contribute so far.

Smiling widely, Keir nodded a little more than he needed. "Aye aye Miss. We'll get on it right away. Come on Neilson!!" Keir called out as he backed away from the R&D recruits and grabbed the bat by the arm. He led them over to the next and final set of tents.

Keir had seen the blue tigress whom he assumed Socks and the brothers had been talking about, as well as the sphinx with the mechanical arm. They had been carrying what appeared to be something purple-ish on a gurney and a small white fox in their arms. As they came in, the smell of the gut wound Tigermark had scented on the wind become more prominent. Turning away from the sight, Keir knew that the others would be back shortly. The Commander had said something about checking on the power station equipment, meaning it may be a while before they returned to camp.

Arching his back and cracking his spine, fingers and all his joints, Keir dropped into a crouch and sprang up, popping his feetpaws' connections. He landed and swiftly moved over to the closest tent and began resetting the frames, canvas, and tie-down ropes. He finished the first one and moved on to the next one, keeping his pace tight.

Vince watched the storm begin to roll in, the air thick with the smell of oncoming rain. Much as he expected an order to find shelter, none was immediately forthcoming. It was only when Lex said the was going to head inside, orders or no, that the bear slung his bag of food over his shoulder and followed her into the nearest tent. The rain had arrived by this point and Vince stood just inside the entrance for a moment, letting his eyes adjust to the darker interior. He stepped off to the side next to Lex and refrained from taking a seat on one of the stools because he had gotten wet enough in the downpour to merit some drying first. He was fortunate, he reflected, to have shorter fur. He imagined that anyone with long fur caught out in the weather would have quite a time drying off again.

Time passed and the rain and lightning slackened off, till the thunder was a mere rumble in the distance. Vince poked his nose outside, the air fresh and slightly cooler now that the storm had passed. He took a deep breath, and stilled as he caught a scent on the breeze. His muzzle creased in a combination of worry and distaste - the smell was of blood, with an undertone that was somehow sharper and more acidic. Across the way, a group of what he assumed were mixed R&D and military members was already heading out, Tigermark among them. Whatever had happened, it was being taken care of. Vince looked around, trying to spot Commander Steele. He was unsure where the man had gone when the storm broke.

The bear returned to where he had been waiting with the rest of the base ops recruits, figuring that if the Commander would look for them anywhere, that would be it. Shard had arrived before him and Vince took his place next to the fox, bag of food again hanging from his shoulder. Soon after, Steele arrived and informed them all that the officer who was supposed to take over for the Lieutenant had had their boat delayed by the storm and to report first thing tomorrow morning. When Lex asked whether they were to simply deliver their gathered foods to the kitchen, Vince nodded, as he also wanted the answer to that question. That they were, essentially, free for the rest of the day actually came as a relief to Vince. That meant he could prepare the creme brulee for Commander Steele without having to be excused from any other duties he might have.

[Tigermark]

Tigermark and the recruits covered the distance quickly. The place where the power line from Aukate came ashore was marked by a warning sign and and a red flag, which was a bit askew from the storm. It ran inland about 30 yards to a place cleared out and surrounded by a chain-link fence.  Tigermark turned and addressed the recruits.

"Guys, stand by here, please. The line carries a lot of power, and it'll be safer if you stay put."

The tiger then walked along the path beside the line. It looked to be intact and undamaged. He reached the distribution station, which was a set of step-down transformers and a control panel. He used his keycard and passcode to open the locked gate, and looked over the panel. It showed the incoming power was fine, but the breaker for the distribution circuits was tripped. He reset it, and the lights on the panel came on and indicated green. With a nod, he went back out and locked the gate as he left. he returned to the recruits and led the way back toward camp.

"Lets go. The power is back on now, and we need to get on with the last bit of training."

Sunny went to her tent as soon as she returned to the camp. Inside, she stripped down and quickly changed into her clean uniform. She had managed to keep most of her fur clean, but a shower could wait until a bit later. Just as a tidying up, measure, however, she washed her hands and brushed out her hair, which she re-affixed into a braid rather than a ponytail, just to ensure she looked a bit more tidy when she returned.

She went quietly back to the tent where Commander Tigermark had been instructing them all, glancing around until she spotted the others and then joining them. She found a spot to stand nearby so she could see what was going on, but decided to stay out of the way of the others who were making sure the camp was still standing and in good order.

Well, this had been an adventure. A storm, a power outage, and a rescue in one day? Not to mention the training. Standing with Angus, Razor waited for the Commander to finish with his business beyond the chain link fence.

When Tigermark returned and led them back to camp, Razor primed in mind to get back into focus for training. The short storm and everything that had transpired after that had thrown him off his focus, but now he was ready to get this thing done so he could hurry and write home about all the crazy that had gone down today.

The recruits that had been in the other group to fix up the camp looked to be doing a very very fine job. Kind of excited him to be working with such a group of dedicated, eager to serve fellows.

Garran posed a hand on Zenny's head before going away. He took his top uniform back and exit the tent. It was dirty of blood, and scratched by the chunk of wood. Wearing it was out of question.
He ran to his tent to take up the other uniform, then ran back to the R&D tent. He didn't want to stop, a moment of rest would have killed him. Inside he found Archeus, quiet.
"Hey. Back to work already?" he exclaimed merrily. "Good thing. Don't let the adrenalin fall, or you'll fall asleep".
He took up some paper from the cabinet and a pen, and began searching his notes again.
He then looked at Archeus again.
"Hey..." Garran whispered, resting his hands on Archeus's shoulders. "Adrenalin washed away already?"
He smiled. "You did great this whole day. You lead a project and saved two lives! You just have to keep up for a few hours. Then a shower, a good meal and a well deserved sleep."

[Sylvian]

Doctor Sylvian Greymyst had spent the majority of the tropical thunderstorm standing looking out a plastic window in the medical tent, arms folded over his chest, clipboard against his chest, watching the storm rage outside. Not many people came into Medical during the storm, honestly most were likely staying out of the rain, and if they were not they were in important business, and were thus not injured and in need of his attention. When the power went out though, which was, admittedly a very annoying inconvenience, he instructed the medical staff to switch to battery operated lights, and make sure the patents they did have under their care were still in good health and stable. The usual things really that didn't really -need- him to tell them to do, but they all knew he was doing it to simply keep his mind off of things and to have something to do.

It wasn't that he didn't like storms, far from it actually if he didn't get busy he'd stand there and watch the rain and listen to the thunder all day.

That was not to say he was not worried.

Storms like this had a bad habit of causing damage, like knocking over trees and power lines, and especially out here in the tropics they'd be those large waves that would suddenly come in and sweep people off beaches or demolish a small boathouse if it was bad enough. Seeing as in most cases Minion Medical Stations like the one he stood in now were the most advanced medical facilities in some areas (Though not always, it depended on the island and the level of settlement and by who it was settled by), that meant that with really bad storms places like this could end up with quite a few of the local native population in their wards and not just strictly Minions.

His fears were not settled, however, when he heard a dispatch go out over the small battery operated CB radio he kept in the tent. It was kept, during storms like this, on the channel that broadcast status updates from squads in the field, including injuries and other medical emergencies. A dispatch then out, not too long after the storm had completely abated, stating that two foxes had been discovered, injured one potentially critically, on the beach and were on their way into Medical. The rest of the dispatch sort of went in one ear out the other and Sylvian ordered two beds cleared, barely hearing the fact that a rogue wave had swept past one of the nearby islands, and for surgery to be prepared in case it was needed.

Before too long Garren and Archeus arrived, Archeus before Garren, both carrying battered and very tired looking feral foxes. Without hesitation Doc Greymyst walks over to where they've been dropped off, sparing the time to smile and incline his head to both Garren and Archeus.

To his eyes, the white vixen was not too badly injured, but being swept out the sea trauma isn't always obvious. Tagging a nearby nurse he orders a blanket and something warm for her. Normally, he would spare a smile and an introduction to the vixen, he is after all a professional, but turning his eyes to the other fox, this one purple, he knew that the pleasantries would have to wait. A piece of wood, a good size piece of wood, was sticking out of the underbelly of the poor creature. Kneeling down next to him Sylvian would put his clipboard aside and frown, ears going back against his head.

"Forgive me for stating to obvious," he says in a warm, but worried tone, "But this doesn't look good." Looking up to a nurse standing nearby who is prepping an IV he stands up, "I need you to go get the X-ray machine, as well as the ultrasound machine. I'll take over the IV." The nurse nods and starts off without comment, knowing talking would only waste time. Taking the IV stand and placing it next to him Sylvian kneels back down and smiles to the fox, who is asleep, "Hey, little guy, I need you to wake up." He says as he gently scratches along the back of the fox's jaw. This is simply to try and wake him back up. With his other hand he is pulling medical tape out of a uniform pocket and starting to get some strips to hold the IV down, "Can't let you rest just yet. Need you to stay awake."

Sylvian really would love to let the little guy rest, but with an abdominal wound, not to mention the fatigue of being swept out to sea, he has no idea how much blood has been lost internally, externally, and for that matter if the poor guy is going into shock. For that matter he goes back to using both hands now, and gently takes a front paw that looks like its in good shape, and expertly inserts the IV needle and takes it down, a slow drip of saline solution to help make up for any blood loss. Its at that point, while he waits for the nurse (And likely one other, an X-ray machine is rather large, even a portable one, and an ultra sound machine will require at least one other person to haul over) he turns to the white vixen and smile, "My name is Doctor Sylvian Greymyst. Can you tell me what happened? From the dispatch," He points over to the battery operated radio (Power is back on, but why turn the radio off), "said you got swept off the shore of your island and deposited here? How long were you two in the water and do you know how much blood the purple fox lost?" He smiles warmly, "Its okay if you don't know. I just need to get you talking, make sure you're alright and not in shock. Also, are you injured? Any broken bones? Do you hurt anywhere?"

[Archeus]

Archeus looked up as Garran consoled her. Garran whispered, resting his hands on Archeus's shoulders. "Adrenalin washed away already?"
He smiled. "You did great this whole day. You lead a project and saved two lives! You just have to keep up for a few hours. Then a shower, a good meal and a well deserved sleep." She put her paw on his. "Good advice. you're probably right." She looked back down, then back up at Garran. "I uh.. I just all the sudden feel like I don't know" She looks a bit bewildered. "I just can't seem to shake the whole incident off."
Archeus fumbles with her files. "I'm thinking one of us should go back and see is Sylvian needs assistance? You can go or I can go or we can flip a coin, I just hate to drop a major case in front of him with out checking that he's good?" Again Archeus runs her paws thru her Mohawk. "Does that make sense? I hope I'm not just being silly here. I just would feel better if one of us were with him."

[Zenny]

The small kit had instantly dozed off the moment his head had hit the tigresses paw coming down off the sudden adrenaline high of the flight in. His breathing quickly turned shallow as he continued to shake uncontrollably, his blood pressure plummeting as shock started to set in. As Doctor Sylvian took his head in his hand to try to wake him, Zenny's eyes would open groggily to a blurry sight of the room. Barely attentive and unable to focus before making himself dizzy, he would close them again and start to drift back off between unconsciousness and sleep. As the Doctor put the IV into his good front paw he would receive no reaction from the young fox as he laid completely motionless, ears flat against his head and tail unmoving.

[Ledoux]

Ledoux looked up to the kind hearted voice. "My name is Doctor Sylvian Greymyst. Can you tell me what happened? Ledoux tried to compose herself. "Hello Dr.Greymyst. The past few hours are a bit of a blur. Zenny and I were on our beach foraging on Tepetema and we were over taken by a wall of water." Ledoux looked down in thought. How long were you two in the water and do you know how much blood the purple fox lost?" He's been injured for over a day now, so quite a bit." "Its okay if you don't know. I just need to get you talking, make sure you're alright and not in shock. Also, are you injured? Any broken bones? Do you hurt anywhere?" I'm OK for the most part, my left rear leg hurts but nothing I can't live through. There were some other family members a little further in. From what I saw I don't hold out much hope. I'm not going to mention this to Zenny. Not now any way. The living are my concern for the moment. You understand I'm sure Doctor. She looked deep into his eyes so that that he may see the terror and futility that was left on the island Tepetema. At some point I may need to return. But not now. That can wait. Zenny is my only concern, he is the last male in our klan.
Oh Doctor Greymyst...I'm so sorry. I....I...I just can't think about them right now." She laid her head down sobbing.

Archeus was a strong woman. Seeing her tired and worried moved Garran's heart.

Garran smiled again.
"It's a normal thing, it's just that you're a good person. Go back to medical, don't worry. I'll wait for the others and we'll continue the project."

[Tigermark]

As they re-entered the camp, Tigermark took note of where the military recruits were. He could see Keir and Eddie finishing up work on the tents, and Sunny, already cleaned up, watching from off to the side He lifted his chin and called out in a voice loud enough to make sure he was heard.

"Recruits! As soon as you're done, meet back in the tent we were sheltering in. We'll finish up there. You too, Recruit Sunday."

The tiger walked on, leading the two recruits with him to the tent he'd mentioned. When they arrived, he told Razor and Angus, "Go rack your lances for now, and bring me the clips. We'll take a short break until the others return."

[Merrihop]

Sunny snapped out of her observation of the activity around the camp when she heard the Commander's voice rise above the clamor. She met his eyes briefly and nodded, trotting back to the tent they had been taking cover in during the storm. Once she found a spot, she settled in and waited for the others to arrive so they could hear the rest of their lesson for the day.

Being they way Keir was, when he was working on a project, he tended to get very focused and sometimes ignored what was going on around him. So it was no surprise when he jumped at the sound of the Commander's voice cutting through the air.

"He sure does have quite a voice. Very clear and audible," Keir thought to himself. "Yes sir Commander! We will be there momentarily sir!" he yelled back as tightened down another knot, making sure it wouldn't come undone from the slightest breeze. After this, Keir finished up the finals knots and stepped back to admire them all. Once that was done, Keir nodded to himself and then jogged back over to the tent Tigermark had mentioned and where they had been before. Giving one last look at the completed tents, Keir stepped inside the tent flaps.

[Sylvian]

Sylvian had kept one eye on the purple fox, who is apparently the white fox's younger brother, while he had been speaking. What he saw was not exactly very comforting at all, the signs of going into Hypovolemic shock. Without missing a beat, though in all honesty his heart did skip one as the reality of the situation set in, he looked from the white fox and whistled for a nurse. The whistle was really only to cut over the general noise of the medical tent, and to make everyone who wasn't in a critical situation to pay attention, because this situation is critical.

"I need an Oxygen mask, and a body temp IV of plasma," His voice is commanding but not harsh, "We need to raise his core body temperature, and get his O2 levels back up." He would then look to the white vixen, "You're brother is going to be okay, he is in good hands." He then rises, and dances around the small group of nurses who are just now arriving with the two medical machines he had asked for earlier. Quickly depositing his clipboard on top of the ultrasound machine he goes to the other side of Zenny's bed and boots up the heart monitor, attaching what looks to be a small armband with wires attached to it (A normal finger clip won't work with a feral fox), and then checks the readout.

"Alright, once we get the O2 mask on him I need one of you to go break open the drawer in Surgery marked 'CVC' and find one marked 'feral', bring it back here. The rest of you," he says looking at the by now three nurses and two medical techs next to him, "I need one of you to boot up the ultrasound machine, one of you find me a razor. Also get the x-ray machine out of the way," he points to a corner nearby, "Over there will do, we'll need it once we get him into stable condition." He looks to the last nurse, "Could you change out the IV for the new fluid, slow drip, we can't let his systolic pressure exceed forty-three, if it goes above that stop giving him IV fluids."

"Whichever one of you is free, I need you to start the triage of this one's sister, make sure she doesn't have any other injuries, and take special care with her back legs, she told me one of them is hurting. Make sure it isn't broken, if it is I have enough faith in you lot to set it without messing her up." A nurse nods and walks over to Ledoux's bed and starts looking her over.

Meanwhile the oxygen mask and the CVC (Central venous catheter) shows up. The mask is put over Zenny's head, gently because at this point they have no idea just how bad he has hit his head if he has, and the tank turned on. As this happens the ultrasound is turned on, and a razor handed over by the nurse assisting Syl. The doctor shaves part of Zenny's neck carefully, a slow process due to the fact that the purple fox is likely still shaking, before using the ultrasound to locate the jugular so the CVC can be inserted, which is done carefully as soon as the vein has been located. After that the warmed, oxygen rich, plasma is transferred from the IV in Zenny's arm to the CVC to get his levels up in consort with the mask, as well as to increase his core body temperature to a more regular level.

As they're doing this, one of the medical techs shaves an area near the splinter in prep to help figure out how deep that is, and once the emergency intervention is done Sylvian moves to the stomach wound, gently running the ultrasound's wand over the area while looking at the screen.

All of this takes less than five minutes, and with some luck Zenny will start coming out of shock while Syl checks the internal damage from the splintered deck railing.

[Coyotecanuck]

Ian had just finished fixing a tent, when he looked up and saw the other R&D recruits heading towards the R&D tent. "Hm, looks like it may be time to get back to the project" he murmured to himself. Ian started walking back towards R&D, nearly slipping in the slick mud that had resulted from the torrential downpour, but recovering quickly. He was very interested to hear what the story was with the possible medical emergency that some of the others had gone off to investigate.

[Archeus]

Archeus jumped up and held Garrans arm. "You're world class Mr. White. I owe you a big one." With that she returned to medical and looked in to see Sylvian already make preperations. Archeus walked over to the changing room to get out of her uniform. Washing up she realized just how soiled her cloths had become. After a though rinse she doned a pair of ER scrubs and proceeded in to assist Sylvian.
Doctor how can I help? Archeus didn't wait for a reply but proceed to grab a tray of scalpels and move over to him. She helped the nurses in preping Zenny. After several minuets his pulse and blood pressure seemed to stabilize. "Well that's a sure sign his body has a little fight left." She smiled. Archeus continued with setting up and monitoring the fox's vitals. The wounds were swept with gauze and antiseptic as she continued assisting the good doctor.

[Tigermark]

Tigermark had taken a seat near the back of the tent, waiting for Razor and Angus to finish racking their lances and return the clips to him. Recruit Sunday came in and found a spot, settling in.

"That was a fast cleanup, Recruit Sunday. Glad to see you're none the worse for wear."

[Merrihop]

Sunny smiled a bit, shaking her head, "Yes sir, thank you. I didn't need to do too much. It was just a little mud, really. It's hard to get much worse than the time I fell in Daddy's bait barrel."

She wrinkled her nose, "I swear I smelled like fish heads for a week. Mama was giving me two or three baths a day until it went away." The marten giggled softly, "I'll probably take a proper shower after we're done for the day, but at least for now I'm presentable."
