Please correct me if I´m mistaken
but the creatures of the islands (sentient) where made by a powerfull mage a long time ago and in my opinion this should be teached in history class with the addition that magic isn´t as strong as it was back then. (History class should focus mostly on the history on the islands)

Well this is all very interesting. I'm glad I read these posts. A lot of good information here. I am truly enjoying posting in the forums. This is my first time ever being a part of something like this, and as it is a learning curve for me, I am using my skills as a writer to their extremes and still having troubles much as Socks was. LOL. However, all of the above information was very helpful.

To the people in R&D, Ledoux told me that you're all being slightly neglected in the training thread :c I am going to get back into the RP sometime later today, and I think I'll start rounding you lot up with Sylvian and do some R&D stuff since Fox is a little busy preping for FC :3 likely nothing serious, I think Syl just wants to meet all of the new R&D staff and see what they're good at. As of yet he has only spoken to I think our resident cyborg Sphinx, and even if he is a medical doctor he is still I think (Unless Silver was brought in) second to Bane for R&D on the island, or at least one of the ranking members, so better to get to know people.

Anyway, its awesome to see everyone taking such interest in Fox's world :3 it is quite an interesting and amazing world is it not? Wish I had not gotten so busy so I could have RPed with you all more than I have xD

Well, off to read the backlog and see where I can place Syl in the RP.

Also as a side note, reading through the replies for day 2.

Yeah we were watching fox stream the other night and I remembered you saying you wanted to hop back in the thread. So I figured I would send out an invitation. I know fox is terrible busy right now. Something like that xD) and perhaps talk to you all about medical stuff, because it seems quite a few of you were doing medical oriented stuff during the first small test! All except the poor man who was turned into a bunny, then used as a toilet brush by Bane.

I've yet to get into the Day Two thread. I just finished reading all of it (oy vey, so many pages!) over the past month or so, and am a little unsure how to break in. I had a thought of having Devon oversleep, but I imagine Steele won't be too thrilled with him. I dunno if I wanna shoot myself in the foot again, yet it would reflect my own hesitation and neglect to join in. *sigh* Anxiety is a troubling thing to deal with.

Anyway, if I can't come up with a better idea, I may go with that, unless someone speaks up with another suggestion. Granted, it might pay off to make Devon a bit of a bumbler for now, if only so I can develop him into a fierce and efficient minion later on. And I need to practice character development for my writing anyway. =)

@BanditRingtail: What are you going into? Military/ Security? Or R&d? Or even the stuff like Shard and Vincent(?)? I Have not really been able to catch up on day one, as my last post there was dwarfed by the time I got back to it (It had been about two weeks.). Let me know and I may be able to help you.   

@BanditRingtail: heh, that's difficult. You could work something out from day 1, like obtaining something to do in the morning, to have an excuse to be absent during day2 morning. But you should ask Foxena for such a cue.
I don't think that with your character's reputation you would have a happy life if he oversleeps, and I think you have enough material to work for future character development.

We'll see. Probably would be good to find a reason he was absent, one that won't get him shipped out. I'm pretty sure he's in Operations, so probably would've gotten sent out to gather fruit. I regret not having read through the whole thing sooner.

@BanditRingtail: If you wanted, you could probably even make a post as if he arrived the same time that Lex did. Right now the three of us (Shard, Vince, and Lex) are waiting for orders from either Commander Steele or Lieutenant Areta (when she returns). It might be better for your character if he were a little late coming back from his hour of gathering than missing the first bit altogether. Just another idea, if you want.

Was lucky enough myself to be away for 2-ish weeks (so just coming back from that now) without too much happening around Vince, made jumping back in a little easier.

Also wondering, are we treating the day one thread as completed for the most part? I've a few things that are still hypothetically happening (mostly the sorting out of dinners with the terrapin whose name currently escapes me)... but I haven't seen him online in a while. Is this one of those things where it's alright to just continue as if it had happened, and then retcon as necessary? This is the first RP I've done with multiple threads for different points in time, so I've a little uncertainty about what is considered standard.

That's a possibility. I've also thought of having Devon get sick from anxiety and stress (annnnnnnd maybe sleep deprivation from staying up too late sketching ideas for traps and/or locks), and thus being unable to report for duty. However, I may run this by Foxena first, as I don't wish to turn Devon into a Woobie. She's not going to let anyone through on a sympathy card (unless she feels they deserve sympathy, of course), that much is obvious, and I want to make sure she knows I got the message. But if the sick tent idea gets shot down, I think I might try yours. Can always just write a short paragraph to get things up to speed and go from there.

Ok. I feel a little dumb for asking this, and it has already been discussed most likely, but seeing as to the Overlord has a non-lethal policy, does that mean that there are no firearms at all on the islands? If there is, that would mean they would use like rubber or beanbag rounds right? I'm kind of confused about this. If there is firearms, Does security forces like what Keir and Razor and all of them use them/ will use them? It might be helpful, especially if when escorting the Overlord/ visiting dignitaries. Long range cover would probably be better than the close range lances. Or maybe the lances could have a cord attached to the wearers wrist that is retractable, this way if needed they could throw the lance and bring it back....

Just a few things I've been stuck on in my head....

@Keir: I had thought of rubber bullets too, since they can deliver a hell of a punch without kiling, but I'm not really sure about firearms in general. Now you instilled doubt in me too!
In any case, a dart with fast-acting downer would be better: it could be used to shot down someone in a few second without harm.
Such rifles are used by vets to sedate wild animals, by the way, so since we're animals it would be appropriate, right? XD

@Garran: Hmm. That does kind of make sense. And yes they do. I have seen what they can do. Lots of YouTube videos with rioters. But the dart might be effective but only from up high (Which I guess the Chimanticores could take care of) or at a medium range on the ground. These are all very plausible. I guess we'll just have to wait until we here from Fox.

I always thought the idea was that firearms of any kind were rather restricted on the islands.

(He he. Oh boy.) As did I, but that is why I was curious. Maybe Tigermark or Silvan or someone could tell us more about it.

Actually, the Bunny Ray wasn't going to be in this RP at all, but it kinda got outed and ran with before it could be stopped. As such, I think its use and even it being mentioned will be very, very restricted. Remember, clean latrines don't just happen.

Anyway, firearms, bows, anything that is usually lethal is prohibited. Even Swords, I'd think. Knives and such are considered tools, even though they can be lethal as well. The Overlord takes her prohibition on lethal force very, very seriously.
