Day Three: Training continues.

Tamara thanked Keir and turned to watch Angus hit himself with the lance. She didn't smile as he let out an expletive, her head just cocked a bit to the side as he did so, as she wasn't expecting him to curse so loudly.

She listened to Tigermark's explanation as she walked toward her quarters to retrieve a brush and do some grooming. While she understood the reasoning behind this self-zapping that they had to do, she still disliked it, and not just a little bit. She hated electric shocks, and especially how hard it was to groom herself back; fur with residual static charge is hard to groom.

Thanks to the uniform though, the biggest part to groom will be her tail, and she quickly sets to the task with her special plastic brush that prevents static to come back, brushing in the same way her fur grows, slowly flattening it so that she stopped looking like she had been zapped.

"Yes Sir " he slowly walkes towards Keir and just see Tamara leaving towards one of the tents with her fluffed out tail. When he reaches the wolf he first thing sits down and pops out the batteriecell of the lance and grounding his lance.
" Man Keir that lance can be shocking " he rubs his arm before beginning to clean his lance.
"where did Tamara go ?"

Keir laughed subtly at Angus' joke, but nodded at the bear. "I know just what you mean. When I got myself in the leg, I was suprised it made it go numb like it did. Yesterday in sparring it didnt do that. I guess it is just our systems getting used to the feelings of the weapon," Keir replied as he waited for Tamara to return.

In reaponse to Angus' question about the tigress, Keir lookd up and tried tp be respectful and not laugh. "She went to try and get her fur to lie flat again and brush out the static," Keir said looking up and then searching for Tamara's return.

Tamara was sitting on her bunk, alone since everyone else was in training, and carefully brushed her fur back in place. She would usually take a long time to do it properly, but she had a feeling that she didn't really had a long time to do it, so she had to expedite it a bit. Yet it would still take a bit of time before she would be back, as she wanted to make sure that she got all the static out of her fur, to avoid it springing back unexpectedly and making her, or parts of her, go all fluffy again.

After seeing how the shocks had affected his comrades, the leopard shark wasn't feeling to confident at all. He could take pain...at least in the forms of scratches, hard punches, harder kicks, and broken bones...but this was going to be an electric SHOCK to his person. Most wouldn't find it a big deal, but with the way his species utilized electrosensory systems....well, he really had no clue how it would turn out.

But he couldn't stand there stalling...not when he was so close to getting to that Citadel. Just. One. Shock.

Loading the clip in to the lance, he felt it crackle to life, sensing the electricity running through it and grimaced. He cast the Commander a quick glance before sticking his right arm through the prongs.

What followed wasn't exactly pretty.

The electric tips sparked, the pain causing Razor to bite right through his tongue in order to keep back from yelping. Then suddenly...everything went black for him as he promptly collapsed with a thud. The arm that had been shocked twitched slightly at his side, while a small bit of blood trickled from his rather mangled tongue and a strange, clear, gel like substance leaked from the area around his nose.

The shark was unresponsive.

Angus nodded at Keir "So she defluffs herself." he then looks at Razor who beginns to clip in the batterie for the lance.
He sits next to Keir and beginns to clean his weapon looking from time to time in the direction of the shark.
When Razor shocks himself he nods only to see him fall a second later.
Years of safety training kicking in and he practically jumps to the shark.
He takes the lance switching it off and putting it behind him. He then looks at the shark looking if he breaths bringing him in stable side position to help him breath better.

Keir nodded to Angus and then looked back in the direction of where Tamara left. He turned back to see Razor readying his shock lance. Keir smiled at him, hoping to boost the shark's confidence.

However, as Keir watched Razor hit himself with the lance, everything seemed to slow down as the leopard shark was shocked, the singals in his brain met, and he collapsed to the ground. Before Keir could move, Angus was up and over by Razor, rolling him to his side. Keir followed close behind and kneeled down on Razor's other side, looking for pulses and signs that the shark's heart was still alive and healthy.

Tigermark watched as Razor put his arm in the lance. The usual spark went off, and things seemed normal, for a moment. Then he noticed the unfocused look come over the shark's face, and blood trickled from the corner of his mouth. Tigermark was moving before the shark collapsed, but somehow Angus was there a second before him. Seeing that Angus had done the proper thing, he stepped around and retrieved Razor's lance.

"Quite a reaction! It's not unusual for someone hit by a full charge to pass out, but it should not happen with a training charge. If he's not back around in under two minutes, we need to call medical. Let me use my tablet and access the chip in his lance."

While Angus and Keir looked after the shark, Tigermark plugged a cable into the base of Razor's Lance After looking over the data, he forwarded a copy of that and a quick report on the reaction to Medical and R&D.

"The chip shows it did as programmed and reduced the amperage for the resistance detected in Razor's arm, and also because of heightened electrochemical activity. Ah! It also shows a brief anomaly at the very end of the charge, the last two milliseconds shows an odd feedback. Okay, I'm recommending any other shark or electro-sensitive species undergo medical testing before we do lance certification."

With that, he disconnected the tablet from the lance and stowed it away. He then knelt beside Razor and gently began to massage the spots along the shark's snout that held his electrical receptors.

"C'mon sharkie-boy, back online and out of it. Don't make me apply a restart shock."

"Keir, if his heart isn't going, run into the tent and get the AED unit right beside the first-aid kit."

Keir watched as the Commander connected his tablet to Razor's lance. After that was done, Keir finally found a pulse up under the shark's neck. It was slow, "But by the gods it was a pulse," Keir thought to himself.

When Tigermark told Keir to go retrieve the AED, he jumped up from Razor and nodded to Angus, seeing that he had control over Razor for now. Stepping into the military tent, Keir spotted the first aid kit and the AED unit next to it. Keir ran over and lifted it from its hanger, then ran it out of the tent.

Setting it on the ground and opening the small crate-like box and began prepping the system. Waiting for Tigermark's order, Keir fenagled the electro-shock pads from the set and got them set up for testing.

Tigermark noted Keir's return, and kept an eye on him as he prepped the AED.

"Good job, Keir, thank you. Hold off on hooking him up. I think I feel a pulse, and I think I can feel him starting to stir."

The tiger continued, with Angus' help, to minister to Razor. He thought he felt the shark shift a little, and he thought he saw the eyes shift and flutter a bit.

Suddenly Razor awoke with a start, sitting up quickly. This was a move he would later regret as his head collided hard with the black and white face of Commander Tigermark. The blow itself further agitated the growing head ache, "Aw fuuu-...Fudge" He manage to catch himself before he said something vulgar, per his custom when he was in pain or confused.

Unfortunately, he was currently both of those things.

The shark blinked his eyes several times, trying to bring everything into focus as he pinched the bridge of his nose with webbed finger. "Well, ain't y'all jest some fine gentlemen, Lookin' out fo' littl 'ol me," Razor managed to quip, despite his condition. He could taste the metallic tang of blood his mouth, while a coolness to his snout from the leaking conductive gel gave him a small hint as to what transpired. Still, he had to ask,

"Ugh..what happened?" He took note of the medical equipment Keir's grasp, "....you better not shock me wit that, man"

Tigermark had been kneeling, but the sudden move of the shark sitting up knocked him back into a sitting position. He'd only had time to lower his head and take the impact on his forehead instead of on his nose. He shook his head to clear it and grinned.

"There you are, Recruit. Keir, stand down and repack the AED, you can stow it back where you got it. Angus, help him stay up if he needs it. Recruit Triakis, are you okay? Are you ready to get on your feet? What happened was, I think, your system reacted badly to the electric shock. The data from your lance chip says it overloaded because of a feedback. I suspect it was your unique electro-sensitive system trying to protect itself. Now, do you need Medical to do anything? Or will that gel leaking from your snout stop on its own? How is your tongue? I think you bit it."

Tamara walked back in at that moment, her fur neatly groomed back, as it should be. She frowned when she realized that something wrong was going, and sped up her pace some. Though, with Tigermark already taking care of things, there was no need for her to rush, even less when she saw Keir pack up some sort of medical device and head back to the military tent with it. Whatever happened to the shark was apparently resolved. Or close enough.

The tigress stepped close enough in time to hear the last of the Commander's words, and she stood there, remaining silent, as Tigermark made sure that Razor was fine and wouldn't require additional medical attention. She gave him a slight nod when he acknowledged her return, though the focus for now was on the shark.

Angus nodded at Tigermark after hearing him.
He then looks at Razor " Want to stand up Razor and sit on a proper chair or bank? Thank god that you only got a little shock but you gave us a scare. Don´t do it again"

Inspection over Dean washes his paws before helping clean the gathered goods and as they are whisked away to the mess hall this task is now complete. Looking around the base ops tent at the assembled Furs, what they are doing to remain productive, and the contents of the tent. Wandering around looking for a task list for what he could be doing to remain productive he leans on a desk and it sways a bit, looking at the four feet planted on the level ground. Pushing it again the feet don’t move but it still sways a bit, taking some tools from nearby he begins tightening the cross braces back down. Testing it again it doesn’t sway and he puts the tools back.

"Yes Commander," Keir replied. "Only if the Commander told me to," Keir laughed at Razor as the shark recovered from the effects of the shock lance. He switched the AED system off, then began to remove the little touch pads from the charge pads. Wrapping up the cords and rest of the system, Keir picked up the system and ran it back into the military tent, hanging it back up on its rack.

Returning to the group, Keir spotted Tamara approaching them all. Nodding to her, Keir slid back over to Razor and Angus, Tigermark standing over the both of them. Keir crouched down next to Razor and began to ask him a few questions. "How are you feeling? Do you think you'll be able to walk over to the bench by the weapons rack? Or just stand up for now?" Keir asked Razor as the wolf slipped his handpaws under the shark's shoulder.

With all the questions coming to him at once, Razor was having the hardest time focusing on just once voice. The splitting head ache he had was hardly helping.

"Ahmmm..." He made an attempt to sit up with the offered help, wiping some of the seeping gel off with the back of his hand, "Yessir, the gell gonna stop at some point. Jest mah electro-sensory organ's gonna be out of commission for maybe....fifteen minutes or so? And don't worry 'bout my tongue, this ain't the first time ah done mangled it" He managed a short laugh, "The sooner ah get up and move around, the better I'mma be. Now if ya fine gentlemen wouldn't mind givin' ah poor shark brotha a hand, I'd be much obliged~"

He glanced at Keir and Angus expectantly, "An' don't act like ah'm heavy or nothin' cuz we all know I'm prolly one of the lightest minions here. Cartilage bones an' all"

"Here " Angus offered Razor his paw to help him up. " Yep you sure are a lightweight"
he props him up as the shark stands looking that he don´t fall on his ass again.

After a moment, Tigermark deftly got to his feet, feeling that sitting on his bum where he'd landed after Razor had collided with him was a bit undignified and not proper for an officer. He nodded approvingly at Tamara as she returned, looking much more de-fluffed. As Keir returned from stowing the AED pack back in the tent and Razor responded in a more or less coherent manner, the tiger gave a silent sigh of relief. he had been worried the shark had been seriously hurt. The procedures were set, but as far as he knew Razor was the first shark to undergo minion training. The new lances with their programmed response chips were supposed to compensate for high water content and conductivity, but apparently nobody in R&D had considered the effect on a nervous system that was very electrically sensitive. He'd be sure to send a detailed report and ask for further research and testing on the chip and lances with that in mind. For now, he was just glad to see that the shark was okay.

"Well, recruit Triakis, you gave us a start, that's for sure. Good to see you're up and more or less intact, then. When you're able, retrieve your lance, don't forget to remove the clip, and all of you get to work cleaning them. Lance inspection fifteen minutes after Recruit Triakis is ready to start cleaning, then we'll go over the formal carries. By then it should be very close to the time her Majesty said she'd return to review us. On with it when you're ready, Razor. Very well done, by the way. You probably knew it would be particularly unpleasant for you, but you did the certification anyway. Not quite sure if that was brave, foolish, or a bit of both, but very well done."

Keir had returned to the small gathering right as Tigermark got to his feet and Angus was lifting Razor from the dusty earth. Stepping up his pace, Keir got around behind the leopard shark and held him up, stabilizing him.

As Razor spoke, Keir could telk that he'd be fine, so Keir turned his attention to the officer before them and heard what he had to say. After the white tiger finished, Keir nodded and replied with a "Yes Commander. We'll get right on that," and a curt nod to Tamara, implying that thet shoukd begin the "lesson" on cleaning.

Angus helps to get Razor to the bench near the lancerack and seats him.
He then looks around and spots a defluffed Tamara and can´t hide a grin.
"Want a few minutes to catch your breath Raz or do you want to beginn your cleaning ?" he asks the Shark.

Tamara observed the scene and got closer only when it became clear that Razor was fine. Then she looked at him, her head tilted a little to the side.

"I believe you meant one of the lightest male minions around," she said with a playful tone and smirk, the innuendo quite obvious.

She listens to Tigermark, and another smirk come to her black lips as he finishes speaking and mentions he's not sure if what Razor did was brave, foolish, or both. ~I know,~ she thought, but kept her lips sealed.

She nods back at Keir to get on the cleaning lesson. She'll have only one try at this, and she'd better not screw up. "Let's get to it!" she tells him as she grabs her lance and removes the energy clip, then make sure that there is no residual energy on the prongs before looking at her comrade, waiting for him to get started on his explanations.

Razor half shrugged, a lazy grin on his face, "Ahhh, well, whether it was brave, foolish or hella stupid, it was necessary, yeah?? And uh...sorry about hittin'  ya in the head there sir..." There was an awkward cough, that could have possibly been a disguised laugh at the Commander's expense, before the shark turned his attention to Tamara.

"Oh, ah am DEF one o' the lightest males 'round here, thats fo' sure...and one o' the shortest. But, ya' know, ,short people are mo' fun~" There was a brief pause, "Ya' know what, that last part sounded real dirty so....so jest, scratch that last part, yeah? Yeah." With another awkward cough, he made his way to the racks with Angus's help, taking the offered seat with a sigh. His head was still throbbing but for the most part, the world had stopped spinning.

"Ah gimme like, two minutes fo' the bass in mah brain ta stop poundin', Angus" He rubbed his temples with his fingers in soothing circles, "Did you jest call me 'Raz'? D'aww, we reached the nickname stage in our relationship! Soon you'll be proposing to me and I'mma have ta let ya down easy just cuz ah can"

Tigermark grinned as he watched the shark make his way to the cleaning area. Tough minded individual, not letting anything slow him down. Good, that was the kind of minion the Overlord wanted.

With two fingers the tiger touched his forehead in an off-paw salute.

"Not a problem, Recruit. I know it wasn't intentional."

He let Razor's innuendo slide. Tamara showed every sign of being able to take care of herself very well in any situation like that, and needed no help. Angus also needed no help, from the previous conversations he'd heard from the bear and the shark. When Razor made it to the cleaning bench and sat down, pronouncing that he needed a couple more minutes, Tigermark gave a nod.

"Very well then, Razor. Inspection in seventeen minutes."

With that, he sat down, removed the clip from the lance he had, pulled a bin of cleaning supplies close and began to clean the contacts that had carboned slightly from his demonstration hit.

Angus grinned at Razor "Next time I get on my knees and propose. now take your time. My arm still tingles a bit from the shock and the best way is to move him. You know wax on wax off. "
he laughs as he sits next to the shark after he got his lance and removes the clip.

He looks that no residue electricity was in his lance before beginning thorough cleaning his lance and all contacts. sinking in a kind of meditative trance while focusing on his task.
