Day Three: Training continues.

Seeing Tamara return the nod, Keir grinned and helped Razor over towards the bench. As Razor sat down on the bench, Keir grabbed the supplies he had pulled out for him and Tamara and then passed them out to her.

"Alright, well the first things you want to do is make sure that the battery pack is removed from the lance and that the compartment is closed. Then you should dust off any loose dirt or grime that you can, this way the job will be a little easier on yourself," Keir said to Tamara as he demonstrated on his own lance.

"Then, go ahead and use the spray bottle to put some water on the lance, coating the heavier spot of dirt." Keir picks up the water bottle and gives the prongs and haft a few good squirts of water. "Next, take one of the provided rags and began to scrub lightly on the metal. It may take a few good hard seconds, but most of it should come off," Keir chuckled as the dirt on his lance disentigrated at his touch. Keir pauses and watches Tamara to make sure that she is keeping up with the lesson.

"Now, just go back and keep repaeting that step until all of the dirt is off. Afterwards, take the bottle of of alcohol based cleaner and put a thin coat on the entire lance," Keir says as he does so. Putting a small dab of the cleaner on a different rag, he takes it up and down the lance slowly applying it evenly.

"Finally, press the release button and clean out the battery compartment as best as you can. You will have an easier time than I because your fingers are smaller," Keir laughs as he shoves the rag down into the small hole. He then takes the rag and pushes it inside drying out the interior. "And we're done!" he says as holds his lance up in the air for Tamara to see. "How did you do?" Keir asks her smiling.

"You tease," she said to Razor with a playful wink right after his innuendo, before turning and walking towards Keir with an exaggerated sway of her hips and tail, as if teasing him back. This was all in good fun, and she had a big grin on her muzzle.

Said grin vanished and she became serious again when Keir explained her how to clean her lance. She winced a bit as she still felt the 'pins and needles feeling' in her arm. Sensations had began to come back to it when she was grooming, and it was very unpleasant, and also made proper grooming quite more difficult. Her arm still wasn't 100% back, and some movements would cause what she could only describe as a wave of pins and needles rolling through some of her muscles and on her skin. It was a quite weird feeling, and she had to shake her arm some to make the feeling go away.

The tigress followed his every steps. The battery was already removed, and she replaced the lid to protect the compartment from any grime or dust. Then she got rid of the loose dirt, before using the water spray to get rid of the not loose dirt. Of which there wasn't much, since their little sparring match lasted only a few minutes.

Then she took a new clean rag, put some of the alcohol based cleaner on it and began applying it to the lance. She did it with application, making sure to spread the product evenly and get the whole of the lance cleaned up with it, giving it a bit of a shine.

She chuckled as he mentioned her smaller fingers, and cleaned the battery compartment as well, then admired her work. "I think I didn't do too bad, what do you think?" she said, presenting him his lance for visual inspection.

As Tamara hands Keir her shock lance, he inspects it closely searching for any left over dirt and grime.

Seeing none left, Keir hands the weapon back to the tigress. "Perfect," he smiles and carefully holds it out her.

"Thank you," she replies as she takes it back, smiling back to Keir.

"See that ya do, fuzz butt, see that ya do"

Patting the brown bear on the back, the shark turned to cleaning his lance, making sure he removed the clip first and foremost. The was a good bit of dirt on the lance due to its fall  from his unexpected black out, so that took a fair amount of dusting before he sprayed it down.

As he did the rather menial task of wiping the metal down to a sheen, he is mind wandered to the events that had transpired only minutes before. He'd known he'd have some sort of reaction to the electricity being administered to his system directly...but not the THAT extreme...he hoped such an occurrence wouldn't hinder his chance to join the Overlord's forces with his friends. He really, REALLY wanted this, and to lose the chance over something he couldn't control made him uneasy.

An itching sensation in his snout tore him from his down spiral of thought. Scratching the spot, he found that the excess gel he'd produced during his episode was crusting up, making for an uncomfortably and unflattering look. With a huff, he scrapped it off, grumbling.

As Tigermark cleaned his lance, he surreptitiously watched his charges. All, including Razor, seemed to now be recovered from the certification. He took note of the condition of their, and his own uniform. All were a bit dusty from the lance test, sparring, or reacting to Razor's certification. Fortunately the material and cut of the uniform meant that a quick brush down and check of the buttons would mean that they'd be in good and clean order for the Overlord's review. He'd have them all take care of that after the formal lance carry review.

He checked over his lance, and found a bit of stray dust along the on-off collar. Using a cloth to wipe that clean, he stood up and walked to a place in front of the Military tent. He checked the time on his tablet, and then announced.

"Ten minutes, then line up and prepare to report for inspection."

Startled Angus looked up. " Uhhhh Yes sir " he tells the commander.

Giving his lance a last lookover and brushs a last speck of dust from the lance he gathers all the cleaning supplies and made sure that everything is in order for inspection.

Tamara looks up at Tigermark and nods. "Aye Sir," she says.

Then she puts her lance on the rack, now that it is clean, and proceeds to dust off her uniform. She got quite a bit dirty when she sparred with Keir, and being all covered in dust and dirt when the Overlord comes wouldn't make it at all. Fortunately, the uniform seemed to require less maintenance than the lance, at least when it came to dusting, as the dirt fell off easily with a swipe of the paw, much to her pleasure.

Looking around, she saw Razor clean his lance as well, and scrap off some of the gel that crusted on his nose. "You missed a bit," she told him gently, leaning down and scrapping a bit of crusted gel that was still stuck to his snout. "There, all clean now!" added the tigress with a gentle smile.

The leopard shark was more or less surprised when the white tigress casually removed the rest of the excess gel that he'd missed. He honestly hadn't expected such an action from any of the recruits, much less Tamara. This was simply due to the fact that they'd only met that day and she was already willing to wipe what was basically conductive snot from his his face.

When he thought of it that way, he was almost in embarrassed by the thought of her pretty much wiping his face clean of unsightly boogers. That would hardly fit the image of a proper minion. Then again, it did lead to an hilarious picture.

With a toothy grin of his own, he gave her a word of thanks, adding, "Last thing ah wanna do is look unsightly 'n front o' you guys, yeah? Hate tah not pass inspection due to a stray wad o' shark snot, hah!"

Rocking on the bench a bit, he was able to push himself to his feet unassisted and was greeted with only a slight throb in his forehead and a brief bout of dizziness. "Ahh...looks like I'm mo' o' less back on mah feet proper". He patted the dust off his rear from his fall earlier, knowing that his back was probably the dustiest part of him right now.

"Yes Commander," Keir replied to the time limit that Tigermark had given the recruits. He smiled as Tamara aided Razor in removing the crusted gel from his snout. "She definitely is friendly towards us, but maybe that's just her manners," Keir thought as he watched both Tamara and Razor dust themselves off. Seeing how he had been flipped onto his back during the sparring match with the female tigress, Keir must have been pretty dusty. He stood from the bench and began to dust himself off. Once that was complete, he again examined his lance for any stray dirt or dust he had left behind.

Tigermark spent the time looking over messages on his tablet. After the ten minutes he'd given went by, he stowed the tablet and addressed the recruits.

"Alright, times up. Line up for lance inspection. Facing me, shoulder to shoulder, about a hand-width apart. Each of you in turn will step forward and report. When the Overlord returns, we'll line up just like this. You won't have to report to her like this, but if she speaks to you, bow from the waist and reply. Overlord, Madame Overlord or Your Majesty are proper terms of address. Ready? okay Faaalll-IN, Prepare for inspection! Tamara, follow the other's lead."

Tamara grabbed her lance and stood at the end of the line, keeping about a hand width between her and her closest neighbour, as instructed by Tigermark. She glanced at the others, and waited for them to begin the inspection and show her how it is done.

Keir got up to go stand in line to prepare for inspection. Seeing as he had already been put at the head of the recruits today, he decided it was someone else's turn to lead. He stepped up to Tamara's left side leaving a hand's width between their shoulders, leaving his left for Razor and Angus to stand, if they wished. He placed the butt of the lance in the palm of his right handpaw, and crossed his left arm over his chest. He held the pose, then as he went through the steps to the formal stance in his mind, he released his left handpaw and brought it down yo his side.

Razor was still in the middle of his pat down when Tigermark call them to fall in. Shaking his body a bit, he was quick to make his way over to the forming line and took a place next to Tamara. He sure hoped he could remember how the whole lance presentation went. He REALLY didn't need to embarrass himself a second time today...thooough, the first time couldn't really be helped.

Angus stood up brushed his uniform down grabbed his lance and walked to stand next to Keir.
He got into position and awaited new orders.

Tigermark looked the recruits over. They'd managed to brush most of the dust off themselves as well as clean their lances. He stood directly in front of them and began.

"Recruit Triakis, Report for Lance inspection."

"Sir Yes Sir!" Came the shark's quick reply, readying his lance for the Commander's inspection. He'd surely hoped he'd done it properly and thoroughly, but with his 'electrifying' experience earlier, he might have missed some things.

As he stood before the white tiger, he questioned if he should have let Keir look over it once again...he was good when it came to doing these kinds of things. At least the shark thought so.

Tigermark took the lance from the shark, looking it over carefully. As he did so, he spoke quietly.

"All recovered, Razor? I'm assuming not quite, since you didn't report, just held the lance up to me. Remember, report with, 'Sir, mah lance is ready fo inspection,' or 'Recruit Triakis reporting for lance inspection.' Don't sweat it too bad right now. You won't have to do that for the Overlord, as far as I know."

Finishing the inspection, he handed the lance back.

"Looks good, Recruit. Now wait here in formation."

He then turned and stepped to in front of Tamara.

"Recruit Tamara, the proper way to do this is, when I call on you to report for Lance inspection, is you take a half-step out towards me, hold up your lance in your right paw, prongs up and state, 'Sir, my Lance is ready for inspection.' You can also say 'Sir, Recruit Tamara reporting for Lance inspection.' If you had a clip, it would be held out in your left hand, with your arm bent at the elbow. That's to both hold it steady so I can retrieve it to inspect it when I'm ready, and to show the clip is not in the Lance. Now, Recruit Tamara, report for Lance inspection."

Razor blinked once. Twice. Then three times before he made a bit of a face, his memory doing its best to grasp a hold of what they'd been show previously. He knew he'd forget something, but the Commander didn't seem too bothered. Heck, he was cool enough to keep his mistake rather discreet, though the other probably noticed he goofed.

Ah well, his head ache wasn't going to let him mope on it for long..he'd just be extra sure to remember the proper protocol whenever this came around again.

"Thank ya, Commander! Will do"

At least he remembered how to properly clean his lance more or less.

Tamara straightened a ltitle and listened intently, her round ears perked up and pointing towards the white tiger in front of her, nodding subtly as he explained the proper protocol for lance inspection.

As he gave the order, she took a half step toward him, her lance on her right paw with the prongs up.

"Sir, Recruit Tamara reporting for Lance inspection," she said with a clear and firm voice, the tip of her tail flicking ever so slowly from side to side.

Tigermark smiled. The tigress was a quick study indeed. He took the lance from her and began his inspection. He also spoke quietly to her, low enough to be out of hearing of the other recruits.

"You're doing great, Tamara. Thank you for not taking these walking bundles of testosterone too seriously. I wanted to check with you before I just made an assumption. When we get finished with the formal lance review, I want everyone to check their uniforms and pair up to help each other. We'll have brushes to get any tougher dirt off. I know grooming among felines is a very...intimate thing, so I wanted to see if you have a problem with one of the guys brushing off your back."

He finished inspecting her lance, finding it well-cleaned. he then spoke louder.

"Excellent job, Recruit. return to formation and wait for formal lance carry review."

Tamara allowed herself a slight smile when Tigermark spoke quietly to her. "I have three brothers back home, two of which would easily dwarfs the bear and shark. I know how to handle males. Besides, they're quite nice," she commented.

Inwardly, she pondered if saying that she knew how to handle males had been such a good idea. After all Tigermark was a male too, and that could be taken the wrong way easily.

"That's not really grooming, Commander," she pointed out. "Only dusting the uniforms with brushes. As long as they keep their paws off, I will have no problems."

She took back her lance, in the same position than when she held it, at attention, before he called her for the inspection.

"Yes Sir, thank you Sir" she said with a normal voice before falling back in formation with the others.

Tigermark gave the tigress a slight nod and flip of the tip of his tail, letting her know he acknowledged that she was okay with having someone brush her back to clean her uniform. Inwardly, he smiled at her comment about being able to handle males. So far she'd been very adept at keeping the male recruits in check without alienating them. He didn't give any thought to himself when she made the comment, as he didn't allow himself to entertain any thought of ANY recruit in that manner. He was, after all, a commanding officer in her Majesty's forces, and a happily married one, to boot.

Taking another side step, he addressed Keir.

"Recruit Mahlonne, report for Lance inspection."

Shard continued to watch the rest of the camp go about their training while he awaited word from General Steel about how had had performed his cleaning duties in the makeshift Autopsy tent. It hadn't been long since the General left but still Shard was eager to find out what the word was.

Keir snapped to attention as Commander Tigermark addressed him. Keir took a half step forward and presented his shock lance to the white tiger, holding it out horizontally with his handpaws open.

"Recruit Mahlonne, reporting for lance inspection sir," Keir said with initiative. He had gone back over the weapon twice after his teaching with Tamara. He was sure that there was no dirt or dust left on it. He held his tail still and kept it from showing how happy he was that he might actually get to see the Citadel first hand.
